We all have to deal with stress at some point in our life. May it be college tension or old age tension. But we have to learn to let go of the things that cause us pain or stress us out. Well, the thing that doesn’t let you to let go, is attachment. The more you hold on to something, the more you will try to hold on. Let’s get rid of it.
When I was a small kid, I used to go to the circus and see the performance of the trapeze artists. They used to let go of a rope to hold on to other one. Just think, if he doesn’t let go of the old one, he won’t even be able to walk again !
There’s another thing to consider here. The emotion called pain. We generally don’t let go because we’re afraid that we will end up in agony. There are a lot of people who just cling on to this phrase called let go. But they don’t realise that the act of letting go is within the reach of themselves.
A bird would never be able to fly if it doesn’t let go of a branch. You won’t be able to walk if one of your leg doesn’t let go of the ground.
There is only one thing you should do to “let go”. Practice detachment. You will never regret. Learn to detach yourself from desires & aspirations. Don’t misinterpret me. If you don’t have dreams, then life would not be enjoyable. It would seem boring. All I am saying is that don’t desire for anything out of your reach or limits. Just let go of the loose strings. Don’t cling on to them. Let them go. They will give you only dissappointment.
